Malaysian electro-pop artist Ze! redefines glam with the release of her new album I Am Glam on her own label Catapult Creative. This loud and brash disco rebel has drawn comparisons to Peaches, Yelle, M.I.A., Lady Gaga, The Ting Tings, CSS and Santigold.

After being kicked out of Malaysian Idol in 2005, ZE! decided to find her audience elsewhere, packed her bags and left for London. ZE! has since toured all of Europe, Australia, Brasil and has just completed a 1st North American tour playing at SXSW  Festival (2011 Official Showcase) and was featured on CNN iReport, LA Weekly, MTV Iggy and Quiksilver Pro NY.

She has shared the stage with Joachim Garraud, Steve Aoki, Crookers, Laidback Luke, Crystal Castles, Chicks on Speed, AC Slater, Drop the Lime, The Vengaboys, Don Rimini, Mickey Moonlight, Inquisitive & Afrikan Boy - and has 3 songs featured on Joachim Garraud's latest album Invasion 2011 (which debuted at #1 on iTunes).

From the day she began gigging back in '99, ZE! has always been known for her passion for fashion; she used to run OSIXNINE boutique with her sister and has modeled for designers Stevie Boi, KLxTL, Charles of London, Criminal Damage, Lonely 8-bit Heroes and headlined fashion events by Reebok, adidas, Tony Hawk and Vice Magazine. ZE! styles herself and designs her own outfits, making every one of her shows a little catwalk of her own.

ZE! has been nominated for 'Best Local English Artist' AIM Award (aka Malaysian Grammys) and was a finalist in the Asian Talent Show 'Sutasi'. UNK is sinds november 2004 het langst bestaande mixed gay feest.

Er werd toen een tijdsgeest en een nieuw groepsgevoel gedefinieerd die de naam verklaart: 'Hunk Funk Punk Spunk & Drunk'.

De kenmerken zijn de electromuziek, de grafische stijl in zwart-wit en uitgesproken en vrijgevochten individuen die iets nieuws aan de (gay)scene willen toevoegen. 
 

UNK werd een begrip en een voorbeeld voor andere organisaties waarmee open en eerlijk werd afgesproken wie welke zaterdag een feest gaf zodat er geen overlapping was. 
Iedereen verdient tevredenheid. 
Helaas is die afspraak nu gebroken door een van de andere organisaties die aan de 1e en 2e zaterdag van de maand kennelijk niet genoeg heeft.


Ere wie ere toekomt.
We gaan door en bestaan in november 7 jaar.

We kijken ook enorm uit naar de Amsterdam Dance Event editie in oktober.
 

Altijd zijn er zowel nieuwe als beroemde deejays en artiesten afgewisseld in de programmering.

We willen jullie verrassen zonder jullie te laten vervreemden.
We willen samen dansen in een gedeelde open geest. 

We dagen jullie uit sinds dag 1, met veel liefde voor jullie nachtelijke vermaak en de schoonheid van het onbekende.

Daniel Peixoto

(Brazil)

Daniel Peixoto stands for the new tropical pop, mixing electro, baile funk, forró, macumba and tecnobega.
He had his official debut as a solo artist opening the Brazilian tour of The Prodigy and launched his first single "Come to Me" on a video premiered exclusively for MTV Brazil.
Daniel recorded the official theme of the gay parade of São Paulo in 2010 and made the track "Sinta o amor em mim (Feel the love in me)" and performed it live for 3,5 million people during the event over a trio elétrico (name used in Brazil for a truck with an extremely powerful sound system).

Daniel played in all Brazilian states and other countries in the world, won the prize "London Burning - Best Artist of 2007" and "Hellcity - Best Show of 2008 " both by popular jury.
He was deemed "gorgeous and the new David Bowie" by journalist Peter Culshaw from the English newspaper The Guardian. In 2009, at the same time he was praised by Justin Timbalake on his personal website where Daniel was defined as "a meeting of Shine Toy Guns, Prodigy and a typically Brazilian passion".

In April, Daniel launched "Mastigando Humanos (Chewing Humans)", his album with 14 new songs and has won praises and magazines such as Rolling Stones and MixMag and sites like Diplo's MadDecente. Soon after the launch, Daniel moved to Europe and pursue his career, now focused on the public from old continent.

04 Maart − 24 April 2011, The House of Rising, Reguliersdwarsstraat 41 Amsterdam

Van 4 maart t/m 24 april zal de fototentoonstelling "My God is Me" plaats vinden in The House of Rising te Amsterdam. Het betreft een jaar uit het leven van multi-talent Monsieur Plastique, gefotografeerd door gerenommeerd fotograaf Bas Losekoot.

Bas Losekoot studeerde in 2001 af aan de Koninklijke Acadademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag en sindsdien heeft hij zich veelzijdig ontwikkeld. Hij werd in 2010 genomineerd voor de Hollands Diep Fashion Photography Award, won dit jaar een derde prijs bij de Zilveren Camera, en werd onlangs geselecteerd voor het Fotofestival Naarden.

Monsieur Plastique is DJ, performance artiest, model, creative director voor verschillende clubs (bijvoorbeeld club AIR) en feesten, visagist en MC. Hij werkte onder andere als DJ en MC voor Extrema Outdoor, Solar festival, liep shows voor onder andere mode-ontwerper Bas Kosters en reist regelmatig naar andere landen en steden om daar zijn werk en talent te tonen. 

Bas volgde Monsieur Plastique een jaar lang tijdens zijn werk en fotografeerde hierbij zijn hoogte en dieptepunten. Dit resulteerde in een controversiële fotoserie, waarvan in deze expositie voor het eerst een selectie getoond zal worden. 'My God is Me' zal einde dit jaar ook in boekvorm uitkomen. RedBull gave us wings and made this exhibition possible, also sponsored by Zarb Champagne & Fotolab Kiekie.

LAF wear komt voort uit 3 gedachtengangen van de tweeling Sander en Maurice de Graaf en vriend Rick Klap. Dit designers trio uit het noorden van Nederland creëert sinds 2008 artistieke street wear en one-pieces.
Naast fashion staat LAF wear bekend om de artworks en muziek keuzes. Dit bewijst zich in de fashionshows die het label presenteert. Deze staan bekend om het totaal beeld. De affiniteit met de muziek scene, resulteert zich in samenwerkingen met bands als Daily Bread en Krause. Performances worden door het label gegeven en geeft een totaal beeld weer van kleding gekruist met muziek. De modellen van LAF wear showen niet alleen de kleding, ze geven een show weg met muziek instrumenten en zang. LAF wear kun je zien, horen en dragen.
Muziek en mode, wie muziek zegt in Amsterdam zegt Italo Elite. Hier kruisen de wegen van de wereld van Italo Elite met de wereld van LAF wear. Donderdag 2 december worden er stukken gepresenteerd van de laatste collectie 'The Sins Of...'. Deze collectie is geïnspireerd op de 7 zondes van het leven gekruisd met gewelddadige bewegingen als hooligan & punk scenes. Italo Elite to the next level!
